|There have been several sightings of Northern Cardinal in Copper Harbor and the Keweenaw of late.
Would be nice if they would take up residency here!
Well the colors have peaked, although there is still some green in Copper Harbor near the Lake. the leaves are hanging on and Brockway Mountain is still gorgeous. We had a beautiful fall this year with extremely vibrant colors ~ Nature in all it’s glory!
The colors have peaked in some but not all areas.

The colors are amazing right now!

The timing of the changing colors does vary from year to year. Last year was a bit later than “normal” and this year seemed early but closer to “normal” Not sure what variables are in action here, I guess Mother Nature likes to remain unpredictable!
There is much more change south of Copper Harbor – some places have reported peak colors already. We still have some green here but the colors are changing quickly and will from here on to peak.

Lake Medora – still green close to Superior

There is much more change south of Copper Harbor. The colors have begun and will move along fairly quickly from here on to peak.

I was hard pressed to find some color, but this small tree gave way to a little red!
The hue of the greens does however indicate the colors will be popping out very soon!
From what we are hearing, the colors have begun south and west of Copper Harbor. We have not seen change yet – but we are typically the last to change in fall. We are still green and have late summer wildflowers blooming at this time!
