Big wet snow flakes obcure a stunted oak on Brockway Mountain Drive last night in the Keweenaw’s first heavy snow near Copper Harbor. There was 3 inches or more that fell in places, and the wind at times gave things a sort of blizzard feel on the mountain.

Brockway Mountain lookout gives a glimpse of Copper Harbor last night night during heavy snow flakes falling.

Lake Superior ~ Gales of November

Waves collide from incoming and rebounding wave makes for fine hair-like spray, and white electric looking streaks in the water. Must click on photo to see the detail.

Superior’s icy waters reach out in this hand-like wave section breaking as it runs over a bedrock bump in her lake bottom below near shore.

Hit the Peak

Well the colors have peaked, although there is still some green in Copper Harbor near the Lake. the leaves are hanging on and Brockway Mountain is still gorgeous. We had a beautiful fall this year with extremely vibrant colors ~ Nature in all it’s glory!
